The D2L integration enables instructors to synchronize assignments created in D2L with the Campus Labs Rubrics tool and allows for rubric-based assessment and evaluation to be conducted directly inside the D2L application.
Once your institution's LMS administrator has enabled the D2L/Rubrics integration faculty and staff will have the ability to create and edit rubric templates within the LMS, as well as evaluate students using their chosen rubric.

Step One: LMS Enrollments & Assignments
The first step in this process is to ensure we have students enrolled in our course and have some assignments created. From the screenshots below you can see that this course has a number of students enrolled and assignments.
Step Two: Sync Assignments & Enrollments
Our next step is to click on the *Campus Labs Rubrics button. Once you click on this button you will be notified that Rubrics is currently syncing your course information (enrollments, assignments, grades, and comments).
*It is possible your institution's LMS administrator has provided a different label.
Once the sync has finished you will want to click on a given assignment to either:
A) Assign a rubric template to the given assignment
B) **Evaluate a student.
**If there are no students enrolled in the course or the enrollments are pending you will be unable to evaluate students.
It is important to note that if the rubric you are assigning does not match the point value of your assignment you will be notified as such. You have the option to ignore this mismatch in point values, though it will not align with the course's grade book. It is important to know that Rubrics will translate this mismatch.
For example, if you have a Rubric template that is set to be out of 100 total points, but in D2L the assignment is only worth 50 points. You evaluate a student using your rubric template in D2L and assess a student giving her 80 points out of 100 (80%). When the next synchronization occurs, Rubric's would put an entry in the grade book for that student giving them 40 points (80% of 50 total possible points).
Step Three: Evaluate Students
When you begin evaluating students you will see the word ""incomplete"" in bold blue letters. In order to begin evaluating a given student, you will want to click the *"Edit" button to the right and fill out the rubric. Once you fill out the rubric and click done you will see that score reflected per student.
Editing a student score is as easy as clicking the *"Edit" button again and updating any comments or dimension scores. Such updates will be synced into the grade book, replacing the previous score and comments.
*It is important to know that if you wish to evaluate a student or update a previous evaluation, you should click the ""Edit"" button. If you click on the student's name you will be taken to the individual student's rubric results page.
Step Four: Sync Scores and Comments
Scores and comments from a student's evaluation will be synced automatically back into the course grade book, as long as the "Allow Sync" is toggled on. In the screenshot below you can see that the scores from above have been successfully synced into the course's grade book.
If you click on a student's name, you will be able to see any comments that were made within the rubric.
Removing a Rubric from an Assignment
If you would like to remove a rubric from an assignment, you will need to acknowledge a few things before being able to remove a rubric, which you can see from the screenshot below. The largest point to acknowledge is that removing a rubric from an assignment will not remove the scores from the rubric.
